How to redeem a Tchibo gift card and check its balance

Redeem a current digital Tchibo gift card online by entering its 16-digit card number and four-digit PIN directly in the basket. At a German Tchibo store, present the digital card at the till. The card is valid for 36 months after it is topped up.

How to redeem a Tchibo gift card online

1. Open tchibo.de and add eligible items to the basket.
2. Select “Redeem gift card” in the basket.
3. Enter the card number and four-digit PIN.
4. Check the applied value before placing the order.

Current digital cards use a 16-digit number. Tchibo’s separate payment FAQ also mentions older 13-digit numbers. A digital card’s number and PIN are in its PDF or the card details provided by the seller.

Payticon currently offers a €10 Tchibo gift card. Once payment is confirmed, collect its card details from your order page. The €5–€100 values offered in Tchibo’s own shop do not describe Payticon’s range.

Redeeming in a Tchibo store

Present the digital gift card when paying at a German Tchibo store. Tchibo says cards bought in Germany work only at tchibo.de and German stores, so do not assume that the card will work on another country version.

At a store, you can choose a partial amount up to the available card value. This differs from online redemption.

How many Tchibo gift cards can I combine?

Tchibo’s current payment FAQ sets an online maximum of seven gift cards within 30 minutes. Stores accept multiple cards per purchase, but Tchibo does not publish a fixed maximum for that channel.

Online, the full available value of each applied card is used. A remainder stays on the card only when the card value exceeds the goods total. At a store, you can instead select a partial amount up to the card’s total value.

How to check a Tchibo gift-card balance

Open Tchibo’s Service & Help area and select “Check gift-card balance”. Keep the card number and PIN ready.

After partial redemption, any available remainder stays on the same card. Do not confuse it with credit in a Tchibo customer account, which may be created after a return.

What can the card buy?

The card is intended for Tchibo coffee and Tchibo consumer goods. Tchibo’s current page excludes:

• flowers,
• mobile services,
• Tchibo Fitness,
• the Tchibo coffee subscription,
• service offers,
• partner promotions.

The live basket or store till is the final check for a particular item.

Expiry and reloading

Tchibo states 36 months after top-up. The period does not automatically start at the end of a calendar year. Tchibo describes reloading only for physical cards bought in a store. This does not make a digital Payticon code reloadable.

Treat the number and PIN like cash. Tchibo says it does not replace lost, damaged or unauthorisedly used card details.

What happens after a return?

When goods paid fully or partly by gift card are returned, Tchibo credits the remaining value to the customer account. Its help says an account is created for a guest order for this purpose. The value is not paid out as cash or moved to a new gift card.

Tchibo gift card not working

Check these points in order:

1. Is the full number present and is the four-digit PIN correct?
2. Are you using tchibo.de or a German Tchibo store?
3. Is the item in an excluded product group?
4. Are you trying to use more than seven cards online within 30 minutes?
5. Is the card still within 36 months of being topped up?

If the error remains, save the basket message and contact the seller or Tchibo customer service with the card details and proof of purchase. Never post the number and PIN in a forum or on social media.
