Redeem a SIXT car-rental voucher while creating a new “Stay flexible” or “Pay later” booking. Enter it under “Voucher and bonus programme”. The vehicle must be returned before the expiry date of the particular code.
How to redeem a SIXT voucher
- Open sixt.de or the SIXT rent area of the app.
- Select pickup and return time, station and vehicle group.
- Confirm that the return occurs before the voucher expires.
- Under payment, choose “Stay flexible” or “Pay later”.
- Add the required extras or protection.
- Under additional information, enter the number in “Voucher and bonus programme”.
- Verify the deduction and every booking detail before placing it.

Why does the voucher not work?
Check four points first:
- Is the booking using the flexible rate rather than a prepaid rate?
- Will the vehicle be returned before the code expires?
- Is the selected booking in a country accepted by the voucher?
- Was the code entered on a new booking rather than added retrospectively?
Current SIXT help lists the “Stay flexible” setting, a valid country including Germany and the expiry date as typical checks. If the error remains, provide customer service with the voucher number and booking details without publishing the complete code.
Existing bookings and modifications
A voucher cannot be applied retrospectively to an existing booking or past rental. The older, still accessible Rent Help page also says that a booking made with a voucher cannot be modified.
Carefully check the station, driver, vehicle group, pickup and return time. Do not create a new chargeable reservation merely to test a code.
Validity belongs to the specific code
SIXT does not give one duration for every car-rental voucher. Its official page explicitly says the expiry on the particular voucher applies and the rental must be completed within it.
A reseller’s 36-month statement or the short life of a promotional code is therefore not universal. Record the date supplied with the code and leave a margin before the vehicle return.
Deposit is still required
The voucher reduces the rental price but does not replace the deposit payment method. At pickup in Germany, SIXT requires a valid credit or debit card in the main driver’s name. The exact deposit depends on the vehicle group and booking.
The required identity and driving-licence documents are also necessary. A gift card or prepaid payment card is not accepted as the deposit method. Check the amount shown by checkout and in the confirmation.
SIXT rent is not SIXT share or SIXT ride
SIXT publishes separate help for car rental, carsharing and ride-hailing. Share or Ride rules — such as one code per ride or forfeiture of unused value — do not automatically apply to a Rent value voucher.
The general Rent help also does not state one combination limit or universal remaining-value rule for every externally sold code. The €25 card terms and car-rental checkout remain decisive.
